Excellent Tips For Finding Traction Control System Repair

Traction Control System Repair

Fullerton Traction Control System Repair

So many Fullerton car owners are often confused with all the new dashboard alerts on newer vehicles. One in particular is the TCS alert light. TCS stands for traction control system, this is a feature that is on all current vehicles and helps to prevent the drive wheels from losing traction on slick or slippery roads.

Here’s some info on what the Traction Control System (TCS) does.

Traction control systems use your wheel-speed sensors on the antilock brake system to feel when one or more of the drive wheels are slipping and or loosing traction. While all vehicles vary depending on your make and model, it will then reduce power to the drive wheels and/or apply the brakes to try to restore valuable traction. When the TCS engages, a dashboard light may illuminate to alert you of the action.

Additionally, TCS works like as a driver who would ease their foot off the accelerator when a drive wheel starts to slip, as if they were to accelerate too quickly on a slippery surface. Although. TCS can detect a wheel slip sooner, react faster and, on some vehicles, reduce the power to individual drive wheels.

Not All TCS systems are the same, some traction control systems intervene too quickly or may shut off too much power to the drive wheels, and the result is that you may have a vehicle stuck in on ice or snow and going nowhere. In some situations, it may be better to turn off the traction control systems and get moving by rocking the vehicle back and forth or flooring the accelerator and powering through.

Though some early versions of TCS began to appear in the 1970s, it wasn’t until the late 1980s that TCS became more widely available, initially on high-end vehicles such as Mercedes and BMW. Now, all modern vehicles now have TCS, but it has become less visible in the last decade due to the fact it ‘s incorporated into the electronic stability control system (SCS).

All You Need To Know About Exhaust System Repair

Exhaust Pipe Repair

We’ve all had that moment when you’re peacefully driving through Fullerton enjoying the radio and all of suddenly a vehicle with an exploding exhaust drives by, sometime with a noise so load you panic and swerve as the vehicle screams by. Even worse is when you discover your vehicle is making that sound! Don’t panic, Orozco’s Auto Service can muffle that noise.

While everyone knows your muffler keeps your engine running quietly, but it’s also a key factor for your vehicles complete exhaust system. There are three main functions your exhaust system provides you vehicle.

While many people know one of the primary functions for your muffle is to reduce the engines exhaust noise. Additionally, it safely moves hot exhaust gases from the engine out the tailpipe through a network of pipes beginning with the exhaust manifold. Finally, the exhaust system treats the exhaust to remove harmful pollutants with the assistance of the catalytic converter.

Lets address that poisonous exhaust (carbon monoxide) extruding from your engine. You don’t want that getting into your passenger compartment, carbon monoxide can be deadly. That’s why you should never run your engine in a closed area/garage. If you have a leak someplace in the exhaust system, it could get into the passenger cabin and make you ill or if ignored, kill you and or your passenger(s). Exhaust gas contains a number of pollutants and dirty particulates. Luckily all exhaust systems these days have a catalytic converter that scrubs some of those harmful substances. And diesel vehicles have systems to deal with soot. Catalytic converters will eventually wear out and need to be replaced. Unfortunately, they are expensive so you want to help them last as long as possible by keeping your fuel system clean and replacing your air filter regularly. These components need to be tested for function with an emission tests from time to time.

If you think you smell exhaust in your vehicle, immediately roll down the windows and drive to Orozco’s Auto Service or any qualified mechanic to get your vehicle inspected. Sometimes you can smell or see exhaust coming from the engine compartment or under the vehicle if you have a leak. Sometimes it sounds like a ticking sound after you start the engine that will go away as you drive. That may mean there’s a small crack or bad fitting / seal that leaks when the engine is cold but closes up when the metal heat up making it expands. It can also generate sound from an exhaust leak that is loud and obvious as stated above.

If you believe your vehicle’s exhaust system needs service or are not sure and would like to have your vehicle inspected, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton today at (714) 525-3239. Keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Helpful Ideas For Auto Maintenance For Your Vehicle

Oil and Filter Service

Here in Fullerton we see plenty of older vehicles on the road. Some are better looking than others but the good news it they are still on the road. Some are used to commute, driving around kids, picking up groceries or even working vehicle. Most of these driver enjoy that fact that they’re paid off, or soon will be. They would gladly like to keep their vehicles for 200,000 miles or more as long as it isn’t in the shop too much.

There are plenty of people whose vehicles are running after 100,000 or 200,000 miles. What do all these vehicles have in common and what what can we learn from them that’s keeping them on the road so long.

A common denominator is that they never skip regular maintenance. That may sound a bit unsophisticated, but it’s really not. Most importantly, oil is the life blood of your engine and it needs to be clean to properly lubricate. Skipping oil changes leads to clogged oil filters and sludge that can damage your engine.

There’s another reason why the scheduling an oil change is so important. It’s simple, an Orozco’s Auto Service ASE certified mechanic is going to be inspecting your your vehicle. All of your fluid levels will be inspected and topped off so they won’t get so low that damage can be done. If there is a significant fluid loss, let’s use brake fluid as an example, your technician can look for the cause of the loss and find the problem before it leads to an accident or costly repair.

The service technician will also visually inspect the vehicle for worn belts and hoses, uneven tire wear, leaking shock absorbers and more. Problems get addressed before they lead to repairs that cost more than the car’s worth. And your service advisor will be able to remind you of other services that the factory recommends you get done.

Of course, good maintenance costs money, but it’s far cheaper than buying a new. Additionally, regular maintenance will help you maintain the best millage your vehicle can offer.

At Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton we thoroughly inspect your vehicle with every service as a courtesy to you and your car. By doing this, we can give you the most thorough, comprehensive feedback on the overall health of your vehicle so that you are able to make the best-informed decisions about your vehicle’s care and maintenance. We’ll tell you about all the problems we notice and how urgent they are so that you know what your options are. If you need to spend your money now to fix a major problem and avoid a future catastrophe, we’ll be sure to let you know. Guaranteed with every service.

If you are interested in setting up a regular maintenance plan for your vehicle, feel free to contact Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton Today or schedule a free appointment online.

Great Advise For An Emergency Roadside Kit

Emergency Roadside Kit

Orozco’s Auto Service would like to remind all drivers to keep an Emergency Roadside Kit in your vehicle. Nobody knows when an accident or at minimum a blocked road that may leave you stranded for hours. If you find yourself on one of those scenarios, having an Emergency Roadside Kit with the right components can make the difference in keeping you and your passengers safe until help arrives. Depending on the issue, proper tools can go a long ways in making a bad situation more tolerable.

While most of these items are available in most trunks, not all roadside Emergency Roadside Kits are the same. While there are many kits available in stores or online, you can always prepare your own for the type and condition of your vehicle, as well as the typical weather where you live or travel. As most drivers in Southern California know you can be skiing in the afternoon and having dinner in the desert all in the same day. Meaning, it’s best to prepare for both hot and cold scenarios.

Here are some of the essentials for your Emergency Roadside Kit:

Flares & Lighting
One of the most important safety items for your kit are flares or reflective triangles, these will warn other drivers of the roadside hazard. In case of a breakdown they should be spaced out evenly along the roadside behind your vehicle. For a longer-lasting option, invest in battery-operated LED flares.

Jumper Cables
These are another essential for every vehicle. Batteries can die or lose their charge at the least opportune moment; jumper cables, with a jump-start from another vehicle, can at least get you to the next service station. You should also consider carrying a separate battery pack for starting your car if no one is around.

First Aid Kit
A first-aid kit is an must have item and is indispensable for addressing smaller, everyday injuries and more serious wounds in the case of an accident. You can purchase them pre-packed with all the essentials or assemble one customized to your needs.

Car Fluids & Tools
Flat tires are one of the most common roadside problems, but it’s not always possible to change a tire. Including a can of tire inflator and sealant in your kit, if it’s a small leak you’ll have a better chance at making it to a service station and at minimum a safer place to pull over. here are a few additional recommendations: motor oil, coolant, extra windshield wiper blades, and a toolkit with screwdrivers, pliers, and an adjustable wrench.

Car Accessories for Winter / Mountains

An ice scraper, a spray bottle with washer fluid, snow chain, blankets, a sleeping bag or a heat-retaining emergency survival blanket, bottled water and long-lasting food items such as energy bars can be rotated out over time.

Car Accessories for Summer / Desert

Bottled water and long-lasting food items such as energy bars can be rotated out over time. Hat with a wide brim, Sunglasses, sturdy knife / multitool, several large leaf bags or solar blankets for instant body shelter from the sun, a small mirror or a signal mirror, matches, butane lighter or flint and steel, a police-type whistle, flashlight and batteries, duct tape.

Lastly, if you are planning a road trip it’s always a good idea to visit Orozco’s Auto Service for a pre-trip inspection or call Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton today at 714-525-3239. Always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Learn A little About Auto Suspension Repair

Auto Suspension repair

Not a lot of people give much though about their vehicle’s suspension while it’s working. When all of a sudden you may notice uneven wear on your tires or start to feel excessive play with your steering wheel. Or all of a sudden you hit a pothole on one of our local Fullerton roads  that damages your suspension. These are some of the signs that you may have suspension problems. Another possible sign to look for is if the front of your vehicle slumps when braking or bottoms out when accelerating.

Again with so much of your suspension packed under your vehicle many people ask “what is the suspension?”. Well simply put, t’s part of your vehicles chassis, which includes the frame, the steering system and the wheels. Your suspension system supports your the vehicle’s weight, helps reduce the effect of impacts from the road and maintains proper wheel alignment. It’s critical for accurate steering, stopping and stability. Every time you hit a pothole, a bump, or object in the road, your suspension absorbs the impact and maintains control.

In most modern vehicles the suspension systems are made up of several parts such as: shocks, springs absorbers, air springs, struts, torsion bars, leaf springs, pull rods, etc.  that connect to your vehicle wheels one way or another.

As you can imagine, with all those parts your suspension has a lot of joints and pivot points that allow your wheels to move up and down over bumps, and to turn as you steer. With all the work your vehicle does over time these joints wear out. Once a joint is worn out, the suspension parts don’t fit together as well as they should. Handling and steering can feel loose, and you may hear some disconcerting noises. Eventually your tires will begin to wear unevenly because they are bouncing on the road. A loose joint has the effect of stressing other suspension components causing a chain reaction so other components wear out faster than they should.

Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton recommends getting proper maintenance according to your vehicles manufacturer’s recommendations. This means having your suspension inspected regularly with certified ASE mechanics and repairing or replacing parts when ever necessary.

By addressing a small problem before it becomes a major repair later can help avoid additional costs. Also, by having parts replaced or checked and ensuring they follows the manufacturer’s specifications. Manufacturer’s also recommend replacing your shock absorbers at pre-estimated intervals.

If your vehicle has any of the above signs or you feel your vehicle’s suspension needs service or are not sure and would like to have it diagnosed, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Garden Grove today at 714-525-3239. Always keep your vehicle in good condition to ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Simple Pointers For Automotive Air Conditioner Repair

Auto Air Conditioning Repair

Fullerton Automotive Air Conditioner Repair

Are you looking for local Automotive Air Conditioner Repair? Then Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton is your destination. Your vehicle’s air conditioning system / climate control is responsible for keeping you comfortable throughout the year. It keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. So you might think that it only needs to be repaired to restore the cold cabin temperatures that keep you comfortable in Fullerton’s hot summers. Drivers need to know that a malfunctioning climate control system could be causing harm to some of your vehicle’s other major systems year round.  Some Auto Air Conditioning problems can result in leaks that bleed corrosive fluid onto other components within your engine compartment. If neglected you may end up needing more than just Automotive Air Conditioning Repair.

Here are some additional issues that can be a sign you need A/C service:

Foul odor coming from your A/C system. Unpleasant odors coming from your car’s vents are usually caused by a dirty, old air cabin filter or a moldy evaporator case. We can clean your A/C lines, evaporator and ventilation system. Then add a biocide used to kill all bacteria, mold and fungi. The ventilation system and interior are deodorized. The air inside your vehicle will be much healthier, smell great and the A/C will run 4 to 5 degrees cooler due to increased efficiency.

Weak airflow. One of the main causes for weak airflow can be mold or mildew accumulating in the evaporator core from moisture or condensation from regular operation, a hose coming loose and decreasing air pressure, ventilation fan failure, or seals coming loose and diminishing airflow.

A/C system isn’t as cold as it used to be. A/C losing its frigidity can be caused by a number of reasons, including a Freon leak caused by a loose seal, gasket, hose, or component, a clogged hose or tube, a failed compressor or component, a failed blower motor, a damaged or failed condenser or evaporator, vacuum leaks, or a failed switch, relay, fuse, or solenoid. A leak in the A/C system can end up compromising the entire system. If you or your mechanic discovers the leak early, then it most likely will not have damaged as many parts, and your repair will not be as expensive.

A/C system starts out cold but gets warm. There are several possible causes for this problem: a faulty compressor clutch, a clogged expansion valve, a bad fuse or wire, or leaks may all cause this symptom.

They automatically move in a variety of directions satisfying drivers every ergonomics need. When you press the power seat controls the power seat triggers motors which then moves your seat forward, backward adjust lumbar support, heated seats just to name a few of the many comfort options. Also allowing you to find the optimal placement for your seat, so that the gas and brake pedals are the right distance for your feet, and so that you are comfortable.

Unfortunately, with all those electronic options, power seats and their controls are more likely to fail than the older manual mechanical lever controlled seats. When the power seat switch fails, the seats can’t move when you press the button, and you won’t be able to control the placement of your seat. While this may not be a serious problem – you may not be able to see well or operate your vehicle if the seat is stuck in a position too far away from your peddles rendering your vehicle undrivable. Power seat switches are usually located on the seat itself or door panel. Those switches send power to the seat motors, allowing you to move your seat in several directions. If the switch malfunctions, then the seat may no longer move, or its movement may be limited. Also,  it’s common for debris to get stuck in the tracks, preventing the seat from moving. However, if cleaning the debris doesn’t resolve the problem, your seat or switches may need to be repaired or replaced. If the switches are working and there is no debris, but your seat still does not move, you may have a malfunctioning power seat motor or a short in one of the wires going to the switch or motor. Something that only an ASE certified technician can handle, just like the technicians employed at Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton!

Most of the time in order to repair power seats, the seat must first be removed, then the motors, switches, & wiring will be inspected. Once the source of the problem is found, it must be repaired or replaced, then everything must be reassembled & thoroughly tested.

Can An Auto Repair Shop Perform Hybrid Repair? YES!

Hybrid Repair

Fullerton Hybrid Repair

These days everyone is interested in hybrid vehicles.  With all that interest we often get asked if they get a hybrid vehicle do they still need maintenance. And if so where can I get it done. Sorry to say but yes all vehicles electric and hybrid still need to be maintained. Not only do you want your new electric baby to last longer you also will want to ensure it will always be safe to drive. These are critical tasks that should always be addressed on any vehicle. Some of the more common services can be brakes, suspension, tires along with all those fancy bells and whistles on todays new vehicles. Not to mention the hybrids stall have complete combustion engine. And to the second question, Absolutely Yes, our Certified ASE technicians are qualified to work on all types of vehicles. Additionally, our technicians are required to maintain continued education for anything new that comes along as part of their certification.

While all vehicles do need maintenance you be happy to know hybrids don’t require any type of special maintenance. Additionally, the hybrid system can reduce normal wear and tear on some conventional parts of the vehicle. When the electric motor takes over, the gas engine shuts down. Resulting in having far fewer miles than the reading on the odometer. Some manufacturer even suggest going long between oil changes. We always recommend following your auto’s manual for factory recommendations for any service.

Brakes are a component that always needs to be maintained on hybrids but at longer intervals. Hybrid vehicles use regenerative braking that re-directs the friction involved in stopping the to replenish the battery. That energy would otherwise be heat on your brakes and pads. So brake jobs will be fewer and farther between in a hybrid. You aren’t completely off the hook though, as you will still need windshield wipers, tires, light bulbs, and cabin air filters. Not to mention the additional battery weight can sped of the wear on your tires.

Hybrid-specific parts are covered by a warranty of at least eight years and 100,000 miles. Some states, including California, have mandated hybrid warranties of ten years and 150,000 miles, which includes the battery pack. As more hybrids have taken to the road, these packs have become less expensive. And there are stories of many hybrids still on the road with their original battery packs at 200,000 miles or more.

With no gasoline engine at all, electric cars eliminate oil and filter changes, tune-ups, exhaust system maintenance, emissions tests, timing belt replacements and engine repairs. Yes, there is an electric motor, but that motor has few moving parts and requires little in the way of maintenance. And, like the hybrids we mentioned above, electrics use regenerative braking, which converts the friction into energy to replenish the battery instead of letting it become heat on your brakes and brake pads. Similar to the hybrid cars, electrics will require fewer, less frequent brake jobs.

If you’re considering getting a hybrid one thing to factor in is the cost difference low enough to be offset by the savings in gasoline and maintenance? For electrics, you need to consider range. Can the car get you through a typical day without needing a recharge? Is there a charging station at work? Are you willing to pay to have one installed at home? And lastly there’s always that great feeling you’ll have knowing you are doing your part to help save our planet.

Regardless of your decision Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton will always be here to help maintain, service or repair any vehicle. If you would like more information about hybrid or electric vehicles feel free to call Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton today at 714-525-3239. Keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Excellent Information About Engine Repair Near Me

Engine Repair Near Me

Fullerton Engine Repair And More

There’s nothing more annoying than driving down Orangethorpe Avenue and your vehicle is suddenly making a new noise,  or there’s a different type of smoke coming from the tail pipe or a few drops of oil on the driveway. It’s always a bad timing when one of these little repair shows up and you’re never ready to have to spend your hard earned money on your vehicle. Even our Fullerton weekend DIY folks sometimes put off these repairs because it’s a dirty job or can eat up their entire day off. Sadly, these types of minor issues may not stop you from maintaining your regular driving routine, but if you ignore them for too long you may need a tow truck. Here are few repairs you should not put off too long before they become a costly repair and visit Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton.

WORN SHOCKS / STRUTS
Worn out shocks and struts seem to always sneaking up on you. It’s not like they go bad overnight, but when they are at the end of their service life they may as well not be there at all. Shocks and struts take a lot of abuse like pot holes and speed bumps and that would normally be transmitted to other chassis components. Without that initial protection, those chassis parts wear out quick. Shocks are usually fairly straightforward to replace, and strut replacement has become easier thanks to the availability of modular strut assemblies. Once the job is done, the difference will be immediately apparent on your ride.

FLUID LEAKS
If you have been topping off your oil for a long time rather than finding the leak, it is time to schedule an appointment with Orozco’s Auto Service. While a small fluid drip may be annoying on your driveway, it can also coat your engine and damage other more sensitive components. Delaying that power steering pump leak repair will sure seem silly when it floods into the alternator and your vehicle wont start. So do yourself and your driveway a favor and get it fixed.

FAILING CV AXLES
You know you’ve already been warned your CV boots are torn, but there’s no way to know just when the joint inside will start to fail. If you’re hearing a clicking and popping when turning left or right, then it’s time for new axles. Waiting too long could lead to dangerous driveline vibrations and possibly even failure of the axle assembly itself. Make the time and contact Orozco’s Auto Service.

EXHAUST LEAKS
While the noise from an exhaust leak can sometimes be fixed by turning up the radio, an exhaust leak can also lead to dangerous fumes finding their way into the passenger compartment. In extreme cases a leak can also burn or melt nearby components. Unfortunately they can also be hard to track down, especially when buried in the engine compartment. Cast iron manifolds can crack, bolts can break, gaskets can fail, and exhaust pipes can rust through. The straight forward repair is to let Orozco’s Auto Service replace the offending part.

If your vehicle is showing any of the above signs or are not sure and would like to have your vehicle diagnosed, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton today at 714-525-3239. Keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Have A Healthy Car – With Air Filter Replacement

Change Your Air Filter

Fullerton Engine Air Filter and Cabin Air Filter Replacement

Many drivers in Fullerton know their vehicle has an air filter but not many drivers know it has two. And even less people know how important those filters are in keeping you and your vehicle healthy. The first air filter and more commonly know is the engine’s air filter, the second, less known but just as important is the cabin air filter. They both do as they are self described, as in “filter air” but work in different areas of your vehicle. Additionally, your air filters should be replaced at the intervals recommended by your vehicles manufacturer, but even that might not be frequent enough. If you drive in dusty areas like the freeways in and around Fullerton, and particularly if you go off-road, filters can get dirty more quickly, and they will need to be replaced more often than what’s recommended.

Here’s some more helpful information about your air filters.

Cabin Air Filter
This filter is sometimes less know due to the fact that it’s usually hidden in a compartment behind or under your glovebox. The cabin air filter maintains the air that comes into your vehicle through your heating and air conditioning system. Essentially acting as an air purifier for inside your vehicle. Nobody wants to breathe in dirty air, if your cabin air filter is dirty, then you may notice reduced air circulation, diminished performance of your air conditioning and heating, or a musty odor. You might even hear a whistling noise from the vents if something larger gets into your vents. Lastly, if you ignore this filter for too long it can develop mold spores that can effect you and or your passengers health. The best way to maintain that fresh air is to visit Orozco’s Auto Service and allow one of their certified ASE mechanics to check and possibly replace the filter at your vehicle’s manufacturer’s recommended intervals.

Engine Air Filter
This filter maintains one of the three essential element that keep your engine running. All combustion engines both standard gasoline or diesel engine require air, fuel and fire to run. The engine air filter reduces contaminates like dirt, bugs, dust, leaves, debris and anything else that may get sucked into your vehicle’s air intake system. Once the air filter has reached it’s limits of capacity for all that debris it will start effecting your engine. You may notice reduced fuel economy, performance, strange noises coming from your engine, misfiring cylinders or your check engine light make come on. Thankfully, this can all be avoided by visiting Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton getting an inspection of your vehicles air intake system.

If you are concerned about your air filters or you would like to have them inspected call or visit Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton today at 714-525-3239. Remember to always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Check Out This Excellent Source For U-Joint Repair

U Joint Repair

Fullerton U-Joint Repair

The driveshaft is an important component in rear wheel drive vehicles that enables the proper rotation of the tires. It acts as a connection between the transmission and the rear tires, transmitting the power produced by the engine to the tires. The driveshaft is supported by U-joints, which are spherical bearings that provide flexibility and enable the driveshaft to function smoothly.

However, if the U-joints are not properly lubricated, they can wear down over time and cause various problems. This includes a bumpy ride, clunking or banging noises during gear changes, and noticeable vibration in the seat or throughout the car. The vibration and noise can also be felt in the seat or throughout the vehicle. The U-joints play an essential role in supporting the driveshaft, which is subjected to significant amounts of force. If the U-joints fail, the driveshaft will not be properly supported, leading to increased vibration and wear.

To avoid these problems, it is essential to keep the U-joints well-lubricated. Some of the signs that suggest it is time to replace the U-joints include noticeable vibration, abnormal noises from under the vehicle, and the presence of red or pink fluid (transmission fluid) on the ground. In such cases, it is advisable to contact a certified ASE service advisor at Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton for an inspection and replacement, if necessary.

In conclusion, the driveshaft and U-joints are critical components in rear wheel drive vehicles that enable the smooth rotation of the tires. Proper lubrication of the U-joints is essential to avoid problems such as vibration and wear. If you experience any symptoms that suggest it may be time to replace the U-joints, it is recommended to seek professional assistance from a certified ASE service advisor.

Top Money Saving Tips On Fuel Injection Repair

fuel injection repair

Fullerton Fuel Injection Repair

If you are a driver in Fullerton, it is crucial to be aware that a faulty fuel injector can lead to engine damage over time. A fuel injector is an electronically operated mechanical device that is responsible for injecting an appropriate amount of gasoline into the engine to ensure optimal combustion. The injector must disperse fuel at the correct pressure, angle, and spray pattern for the engine to run smoothly.

To keep your vehicle running properly, it is essential to maintain your fuel injection system in good working condition. The following are some signs that your vehicle may require fuel injection repair:

  • Knocking sounds and excessive vibration may result from a partially blocked fuel injector, which hinders the appropriate amount of fuel from entering the engine cylinder.
  • A faulty fuel injector can cause an engine misfire and turn on the engine management light. Depending on which injector is affected, various management lights may illuminate.
  • Starting trouble or a total inability to start may be due to a leaky injector, which can cause the fuel pressure in the fuel rail to decrease. If you detect unburnt gasoline coming from the engine bay, it may be an indication of a leaky fuel injector.
  • A malfunctioning fuel injector can decrease the overall fuel efficiency of your engine. If the injector is not functioning correctly, the engine control unit may over-fuel and use more fuel than necessary.
  • Even if the injectors are just dirty, a poorly performing fuel injector can affect the engine’s torque, acceleration, and power.
  • The solenoid at the top of the fuel injector generates a magnetic field that pulls up the injector pintle when it is energized. If the injector does not operate correctly, the magnetic field may not be potent enough to open the injector entirely. Resistance difficulties with the injector solenoid can also cause other issues.

Regular maintenance and timely fuel injector repairs are critical for maintaining the good working order of your engine components. With proper care, your fuel injector can last the life of the engine.

If your vehicle has any of the above signs or you feel your vehicle’s fuel injection needs service or are not sure and would like to have it diagnosed, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Garden Grove today at 714-525-3239. Always keep your vehicle in good condition to ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

The Best Advice About Cam Shaft Repair

Cam Shaft Repair

Fullerton Camshaft Repair

If you hear unusual sounds like backfiring, popping, tapping noise from the top of the engine, or experience a dead miss or loss of engine power while driving in Fullerton, it may indicate a problem with your camshaft. Orozco’s Auto Service in Fullerton is recommended in such a scenario.

The camshaft is a critical component of an internal combustion engine, consisting of thousands of parts, including over 200 moving parts. A vehicle’s engine cannot function without a camshaft, and if it is damaged, the engine’s performance suffers.

Understanding the workings of a camshaft can be challenging for those who do not have the opportunity to take apart a car engine. The role of the camshaft and its impact when not functioning correctly is worth exploring.

When fuel and air mix and ignite, the engine’s pistons move up and down in its cylinders, and the valves at the top of the cylinders need to open and close to allow oxygen in and expel the exhaust gases produced by the explosion.

According to experts at Orozco’s Auto Service, the camshaft is responsible for opening and closing each cylinder’s valves at the correct moment and duration. The camshaft comprises “lobes” or “cams” that push rocker arms while the camshaft rotates. This rotation raises the outside of the rocker arm, allowing the inside to press on the valve and open it. As the camshaft continues to rotate, the rocker arm returns to its initial position, releasing the pressure on the valve, and the valve spring closes the valve. This precise timing with the vehicle’s ignition ensures smooth engine operation and efficient power production.

Camshafts can be driven by a belt, chain, or gear set. Some engines have camshafts that are pushed from below, while others sit on top of the motor and work from “overhead.” The latter design may feature a pair of camshafts. Certain cam designs permit the timing of when the valves are open to vary. With a series of computer controls, this can create different power profiles at different engine speeds.

Repairing a camshaft is not recommended due to the manufacturing processes. While some high-performance engines use repairable camshafts, it is usually not practical or cost-effective for the average car on the road. If a car requires a new camshaft, it is best to replace it with a new one, and Orozco’s Auto Service is the optimal choice in this situation.

If your vehicle is showing any of the above signs or you believe your vehicle’s camshaft is damaged or are not sure and would like to have it inspected, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton today at 714-525-3239. Always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!
