As a result, finding a competent, knowledgeable automotive professional can be a real challenge Luckily, here at Orozco’s Auto Service of Fullerton we hire only the most competent, experienced and educated of auto technicians (mechanics). With all that said it usually means an ASE Certified Auto Technician, AKA Auto Mechanic.

Thanks to the ASE certification program, everybody wins: car owners can easily find ASE Certified professionals who have proven themselves to be knowledgeable professionals. Repair shops can get additional visibility in their markets by qualifying for the Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition Program. And certified auto professionals can get the respect and recognition they’ve worked so hard to earn.

What does ASE mean and why should I care if it’s an ASE Technician?

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence ASE, is short for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. Since 1972 they are an independent non-profit organization has worked to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying automotive professionals. The process to become ASE Certified is not easy. In order to attain ASE Certification, technicians must complete a minimum of 2 years of qualified work experience and pass a challenging test for each certification. The tests are challenging. Only two out of every three test takers pass on their first attempt. To ensure technician’s are up-to-date on current systems and technologies, ASE Certified Technicians are required to prove their technician knowledge by retesting every 5 years to keep their certifications current.

Additionally, ASE exists to protect the automotive service customer, shop owners and service professionals. They test and certify automotive service professionals so that the shops like Orozco’s Auto Service and and their customers can better gauge a technician’s level of expertise before contracting the technician’s services. They certify the service individual so they can offer tangible proof of their technical knowledge.

So the next time you’re in need of auto repair or service think of Orozco’s Auto Serve of Fullerton and or ASE Certified Technicians and Service Advisors and knowing we only employ the best for our customers.

Owning a car is quite a freedom. You’re able to go to places that are further away and don’t have to wait for a ride. Owning a car can also be a burden, too. Your vehicle can leave you stranded at the most inopportune time by breaking down. The following tips should be used to help you get back on the road.

TIP! When you are at the auto shop, ask a lot of questions concerning your car. These questions can involve issues you’re dealing with and what you can do to avoid them in the future.

Do not be afraid to ask lots of questions whenever you take your vehicle to the auto shop. You should ask about the problems you have and what to do to avoid them in the future. Preventing automotive issues is a valuable skill to save money during the year.

TIP! Your car should be washed regularly so that rust doesn’t become a problem. Every car is going to rust in the future, but this can be delayed if you just get all of the chemicals and salt off your car when you can.

You must wash your car to keep the rust away. All cars eventually succumb to rust, however you can delay this process by washing all salt and chemicals from your car immediately. Utilize quality waxes to keep the paint looking new.

TIP! Referrals can be helpful for finding an auto mechanic. Therefore, do not hesitate to ask your family and friends for their recommendations.

Before paying your mechanic for any work done, make sure to take it for a short test drive first, to make sure everything is working as it should. If you don’t do this, you may still have an issue after you get it home.

TIP! Keep good records for your car’s history. It’s a good idea to place them in the vehicle you drive just in case you’re in need of repairs while you’re out and about.

If you are having extensive repairs done, make sure that you get several estimates. Although most repair shops can be trusted, you do not want to have to spend some more unnecessary repairs. Find a shop that specializes in your particular make of car. You will get much better results if you go to a reliable auto shop.

TIP! Whenever your car undergoes repairs, make sure you have the written record of what was done. If you have more problems later, other mechanics can decipher why.

Don’t forget about your windshield wipers. If you notice your wiper blades leaving streaks on your windshield, or they chatter, then it is time to obtain new blades. They should be replaced yearly or more frequently if you drive in a rainy locale.

TIP! Check online for reviews of local mechanics. This lets you know how other people who have tried this mechanic before have felt about their experience.

Not all auto repairs will cost large sums of money. In some cases, you can take care of it yourself. Get your vehicle working by using the tips you learned here.
