Following the 1973 oil crisis, Chrysler developed the “K-car” platform, which launched in 1981 and included compact to midsize models. The K platform is credited with helping Chrysler survive in the 1980s and led to the creation of the Dodge Caravan, recognized as the first production minivan and a pioneer in the minivan market.
Dodge is known for delivering stylish, reliable vehicles with high performance at an affordable price. Notable models include the Charger and Challenger “Hellcat” editions, featuring the powerful 707-horsepower Hellcat V8 engine, the 645-horsepower V10 Viper, and the high-performance SRT trim.
In 2011, Dodge separated into distinct brands: Dodge, Ram (for trucks), and the Viper under Dodge’s SRT (Street and Racing Technology) brand.
