On April 30, 2009, Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, only managing to survive with the aid of a U.S. government bailout.
Chrysler is considered one of the “Big Three” American automakers and sells vehicles globally under the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram brands. It also offers high-performance versions of various models through its SRT division. In 2014, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles U.S. LLC became the seventh-largest automaker in the world.
Today, Chrysler’s reputation has improved significantly. Its current lineup includes the powerful and luxurious Chrysler 300, the smaller entry-level Chrysler 200 that offers excellent value, and the Town & Country minivan. These three models represent the entirety of Chrysler’s lineup.
